Who is Kate?

  • I’m so glad you asked! I’m the creator of Art of the Pie® and Pie Camp®. Since 2008 I have taught pie making both in-person and virtually to over 8,000 pie campers across North America and Europe. I am the author of three books, Art of the Pie: A Practical Guide to Homemade Crusts, Fillings, and Life (2016), Home Cooking with Kate McDermott (2018), Pie Camp: The Skills You Need to Make Any Pie You want (2020). In 2017 I received a James Beard Award Nomination for Art of the Pie.
