# 270: S is for the Snug Season
Ten ways to enjoy the slow life, plus a special offer from Eat Your Books!
Outside chores are pretty much done, there’s enough dry firewood to get me through the winter, the garden is put to bed, and now is the time to heed the call to turn inward. It’s the Snug Season. To keep company with this cozy, restful time that is knocking at the door, here are ten things I like to do.
Light candles before the sun comes up.
Have a pile of books to read while cozied up on the couch with a blanket.
Sip a delicious mug of hot chocolate or chai tea.
Make soup.
Start a new knitting project or weave colorful potholders.
Put jammies on as soon as it gets dark.
Watch an old classic movie.
Listen to the woodstove.
Treat myself to a guilt-free lazy day and do nothing at all.
How do you bring the snug season into your life?

Before I go, here’s a photo of the snug spot in Dunguaire Castle near Galway, Ireland which was once the meeting place of such literary greats as W.B. Yeats, his patron Lady Gregory, George Bernard Shaw, Edward Martin and J.M. Synge. Can you imagine the conversations that took place in this cozy place?
Something that you can do for me is to heart ❤️ this post. It not only lets me know that you are stopping by but this really helps my ratings on Substack, too. Thank you!
