Beautiful. Yes the devastation is unimaginable. My husband grew up in the Palisades and have family there that have been there for years that have lost their homes as well as our daughter, husband and family losing their home and entire entire neighborhood . Their hearts extend to others as they continue to work overseeing others and the mutual grief the community has in common. Our hearts and resources are being utilized to the immediate needs. The outreach of the many is heartfelt. Much Love, Mary Jane

Already a member so I will donate on my own. It all feels so big and so devastating! I hope my one small bit is joined by a lot of other small bits to help. Thanks Kate.

Kate, as usual, you leave me in awe of what one individual can do to make the world better for everyone! I have signed up again. Your generosity is inspiring.

Kate, thanks for the kind mention of both my and Jeff’s posts about the fire and most of all for the money you’re raising for the World Central Kitchen, such a worthy organization that is on the front lines here and all over the world.

I’ve been thinking of how vulnerable Santa Barbara is too, with its back against the hills—like Pacific Palisades. I’m so glad your childhood memories don’t include being evacuated because of a firestorm or flood (the city has had those too, I think!). We are all at nature’s mercy here and in so many places. Thanks for keeping it front and center.

I did give to WCK last week. It is always my first choice of donation because I know I can trust them. My membership to your substack isn't due until April so I'm not sure how that would work to subscribe now.
