Good Morning, Kate...from W.V. We did not expect rain last night....it had been a blistery hot day- but during the night, boom, thunder and lightening and Blessed rain!! This morning, all my cushions are soaking wet...as I left them all on the chairs! But who cares? soon the sun will be out and they will dry. Like you...I have always loved a rainy day...it gives pause, time to read, to listen to music, to pray, to think. But in my earlier years it meant getting to work...rain or shine! Those days, I was a nurse and it just meant I would smile more and try to comfort those who would not be going out in the rain. Thanks for your "visit" this morning. I am always thrilled when I see your newsletter!
I’m glad you had a break from that heat. In the far upper left corner of the PNW we have been spared the high temps that you and so many others are experiencing. Enjoy that rain, Nanette. And thanks for your kind words about my newsletter!
It was just glorious. By the fall I am really ready for rain, having missed it for so many months. Today I could sense my garden sighing and opening to receive this precious gift. Watering with a hose cannot compare. What a gift it was.
I love the sound of rain, and thunder even more. When I was attending Cal Poly SLO I loved to go to Morro Bay or Montaña de Oro State Park on a gloomy day to sit or walk in the fog, followed by a cup of chowder. Perfect memories!
Sledding down the college president’s lawn on cafeteria trays - a good rain memory. A storm broke the heat here today, time to look for a good puddle for stomping.
I love the rain! It is soothing and comforting for me. I honestly find continuous days of sun somewhat unsettling. When I woke up to rain this morning, I felt calm and ready to enjoy this day! I hope it rains tomorrow, too🌨️

That does sound like a perfect day. I used to head down to Moby Dick's on the wharf in Santa Barbara and watch the rain.

Oh I love that image! Here's to cafeteria trays and puddles...and lower temps, too!
I love the rain, too. It rained a little bit here today. I was born in Santa Barbara! My mother’s family all lived in Solvang. How funny is that.
We have rain and SB in common!
Perfect timing, just as we're receiving our first rain in months. So refreshing and comforting.
A blessing from the sky.

A woman after my own heart! I'm looking forward to woodstove days, too.
