It isn't always easy to learn, but NEVER under estimate the benefit of the direct approach~! Too bad you didn't get to try out those shears; he was certainly asking for it. GO KATE~!!! Kate = 1, harpist = 0
Oh, The Fantasticks! When I was a child, I heard Ed Ames sing "Try to Remember" and I HAD to have the 45! I played it over and over and over... over the years. I didn't know it was from a musical. Imagine my surprise and delight to find that there is a whole immeasureably incredible musical that it came from! I've seen The Fantasticks on tv and live several times now and I NEVER get tired of it!
Nice threat! That's what I would have done, too, but far earlier than you did. I do not suffer fools lightly, especially ones who are making fun of me.
Ps. I just read that, sadly, Ed Ames, died in May at the age of 95. May he journey well into the Light.
I keep roasting pans in the bottom of my oven for overflows. LOL!
Thanks Kate, What a wonderful memory. Isn't it great when people give us gifts that reshape our world? And kudos to you for finding a creative way to deal with the harpist.
I had to read this article of yours as soon as I saw it in my email queue. I couldn't understand how drapery shears, harp strings and pies could intersect.
This is great, Kate! Way to take charge of that harpist bully! I'm guessing you still have those shears.❤️
Pam-They were perfect for that one time and I haven't used them since. 😉
Way to stand up for yourself .... ! I find the F word ... when well placed ... many times
the perfect solution!
Oh so true Gretchen!

The thought of clipping him...well, I still get a chuckle out of it, Jaito!
Mmmhmm (BIG smile)
You're more tactful than I - I would have cut them first and then smiled~
LOL!

Thanks Mel! I’ve never had to use them since...at least in that way. 😉
Roasting pan is great. I put a silicone mat on the lowest rack setting.

If I find an affordable copy of the full score, I just might have to splurge and recreate that magic feeling at the piano.
What a fantastic way to put that bully in his place, Kate! Those big-ass shears came across your path at the right time indeed :-)
Indeed they did. Timing!
You little devil.
😉
Perfect
I'll take that as a compliment, Tom.
The highest you can get.
😁
🤣
You’re the greatest!
Well thanks Jolene!

You've done it again! Quite well!
Well thanks so much, BJ!
Great story Kate. Most men have an aversion to women with a pair of scissors in their possession.
Cheers,
Rick
