I got my subscription just to read the rest of this story. I'm a quilter and I had something similar happen to me with entries to a County Fair. That was a very long time ago and I'm tearing up here for you and for the memories. Congratulations!
We share the same soundtrack, my Friend; those do-do-do-do-doots get me everytime. I envision you in the kitchen like the Bob Ross of pies, lovingly crafting that no-mistakes-only-happy-accidents crust-singe into the magnificent Best In Show it had inside all along! Things always *do* look better in the morning, or, in a parallel soundtrack, "the sun'll come out tomorrow..." xoxo PS Who the hell *did* hack the blackberry patch??
Well, I can’t ‘really’ claim ownership of them, but after many years of picking there, I felt like they were mine. I still pick there when possible, too.
Kate, I just love reading your stories ♥️ I’ve got cherry pie filling in my fridge I’ll think I’ll make a pie for two in my new pie plate. Thanks for sharing
What a wonderful memory, Kate! Impressive indeed.
Thanks so much Denny!
Everything about this is fabulous. And cherry pie--the best!
Thanks Amy! And sooooo excited that your book is now in pre-sale mode!
Meeee tooo!! i'm so happy about this baby. Oct is pub date.
I already knew the outcome because I knew just how special that sour Cherry is! I made one yesterday and it did not disappoint!
So great to hear, Vicki!
Marbles are highly overrated anyway. That cherry pie had its own warning system so you’d get it at the right moment!! 🍒
Apparently so!
Things always do look better in the morning. Thanks for the reminder!

WELCOME, Mel! I would love to know your quilting story.
My grandma used to say that things usually look better in the morning. This is a great reminder!
It's the little things.
Always a great story to warm my heart.

Well you have made me smile once again. Thank you. Your pies look wonderful.
I love this story!
I’m so glad you do, Julie! Years later my son entered in the pie division and won the green and white ribbon, too.
Loved the story! I know that "we can do a little more" feeling.
Love this recipe, this story, you!
Entered pie into local fair competition a few years ago … Also won huge ribbon and$15.00 ….I never realized how competitive other pie makers are!
I truly feel that every pie maker is a winner and should get a blue ribbon for effort and entering. 🥇
Love your stories! ❤️
I second!!
🥰
