You’ve brought me back to the delight and excitement of Saturday morning cartoons:)
Blanket forts and adding spoonfuls of sugar to my Frosted Flakes were also essential to the day! Thank you; I haven’t thought of those times since forever!
Susie brought back memories of Val, my first car. We had many great adventures together, then her transmission started to fail. With over 350k miles on her, I tearfully decided to trade her in. The car dealer said he’d give me $100 trade-in IF I didn’t leave her anywhere near the dealership. So Val ended up parked in an alley behind a friends house for over a year. She was marked with graffiti and her tires were going flat when a guy offered me $50 for her.
He and his buddy were moving to Arizona for work. His buddy just had his truck totally fixed up and, upon seeing Val, said, “If you break down, I’m NOT waiting for you!”
Well, the guy that bought Val put air in her tires, cleaned her up and had a rebuilt transmission installed. Then off they went for Arizona. Half way there the ‘fixed up’ truck broke down… Val and her new owner went on to Arizona, and last I heard, she was still putting around. I loved that car.

Wendy, I LOVE curating for our ‘Toon Days as I remember those mornings, too.
We were a Corn Flakes and Cheerios house. 😉
That was just delightful. Thanks for the lift this morning!
It is pretty darn sweet!
