Today is the first of what will be a few posts to you about my week-long trek along the coast of Brittany and it begins with me nearly missing my flights and a special night in Paris!
I love Paris and never tire of seeing pictures of it and reading about any adventures in ‘La Belle France.’ So glad you didn’t miss out on the trip due to a date snafu, Kate, and can’t wait to read about Brittany and kouign amann!
PS: It’s distressing to lose carefully curated trip notes and photos. I find that penning a few handwritten notes and impressions in a journal can be helpful (unless you lose the journal, that is!). There’s an immediacy to such writing that sometimes inspires a later post.
What an adventure, Kate! I'm looking forward to the next installment. I just returned from a trip to the Canadian Maritimes and so enjoyed the French influence. I avoided SeaTac this time by flying in and out of Vancouver. So much easier! SeaTac is a mess! ❤️
So sorry your initial travels were so stressful. That’s no way to start a long awaited journey. Hope you have smoother sailing from now. I believe you will love Brittany , its food and unique culture. Safe travels.
Thank you for taking us with you. Somehow the lost draft — while painful, I’m sure — seems part of the journey. Eager to read more. I think you’re home now, yes? Regardless, sending a tip for a glass of wine wherever you are. Cheers!
Hi Kate - Welcome home! Can you tell me when my subscription is due for renewal. It looks like I signed up towards the end of April (6 months ago). Looking forward to the next 1 hr. zoom class. Do you have a date and topic scheduled? Cheers and all the best! Mary Jane
Hi Mary Jane and thank you! It's good to be back. Your sub renews on Jul 15, 2025. The next date is Wednesday Oct 16th at 8AM and will be making Lemon Curd!
I loved this post - even the part about losing your draft seemed serendipitous to me. After that, your focus was on the adventure not the reporting of it. More and more, I think our opportunities for just "being" are sliding away from us. We're all tethered to our phones or laptops, etc., and it's just too much. This way, you can stop and really see where you are and the beauty laid out before you.
Your comment on losing your drafts - "So I decided to let it go and experience each step I was taking along the way without worrying" - words to live by! I hope the digital loss allowed you to be even more in the moment on what sounds like a fabulous trip with wonderful people.
Wonderful journal of your travels. No worries re the lost entries, what you put up was fabulous! It's your experience that counts 👍 It's great to hear your accounts of the travel and Paris. Haven't been there in many years. So glad you had such a memorable time😄
Oh Kate! I’m so glad you didn’t miss your flight. I wish I had thought to refer you to my favorite restaurant in Paris, Macéo in the 1er. I’ve been going there since they opened in 97, and the owner Mark Williamson, has become a treasured friend. The food is so delicious and so affordable. Ah we will., next trip!
I will be following your journey here, as I did on Facebook with the photos ❤️ I’m so overdue for a trip to France!
I’m proud of you, Kate, for taking a deep breath and putting yourself into a Zen mindset by just imagining a gummy, thus zero meltdown. It looks as you had a wonderful time together, and I can’t wait to hear more when we get together!
I'm looking forward to sharing more with you, too. Our mutual friend Kitty says I could just stand next to someone or put a gummy on my forehead and feel it's effect!

That's a great idea, Pam! Duncan & Olivia have done that for their international travel. I'll look into it for next time.

I think travel provides great lessons, Kate. I'm home now and LOVED Brittany!
Ouch! for the lost draft! I understand how that feels. Still, I feel like I am almost taking this adventure with you. I want it all!
More to come, Mel! More to come!

Mary, thank you sooooo much! Here's a clink of the glass and toast to you!
Yes, I'm home and catching up. Our 8th Annual Cider Pressing & Potluck is tomorrow and it will be good to be with family and friends. xo

I agree so very much. Simply experiencing is a lesson I want to keep practicing, Julie.

It really did, Barb.

I’ll return just to take that nighttime cruise on the Seine.

I think it’s time for you to realize that you really aren’t that anxious anymore. Kudos to you, my friend!
😉

That's right!😄
Love “being” in a Paris with you and the gang, Kate! (Sorry about the lost draft;)
And this is just the start of an epic journey! (I was really sorry to lose it, too, but life goes on. Forward!)
Love to read about travel! Thank you, Kate!
I know you do and I love hearing about your travels, too, Marge.
Kate, felt like I was there with you. Thx for sharing.
This my goal, Susan, to take you all with me! Thank you!!
