Kate, I was unaware that you were having such problems and required surgery. I glad all went well and that you are home recuperating with friends and loved ones at your side. Yes, go slow while you heal. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas and good health. You have all my hope.
Kate - I’ve been holding you in my thoughts this past week & am so pleased that your surgery and recovery are coming along splendidly. It certainly is soup weather - made a big batch of minestrone last week and shared w/my daughter who had Covid. I think it helped her recover faster. I will try your soup recipe but substitute some tempe for the sausage as my husband & I are vegetarian. Cheers and keep healing.
Thanks so much for holding me in your thoughts last week! Yes, you can make this without sausage, or with tempe. I think grilled halloumi on top would be a nice addition, too.
Oh Kate, I'm so sorry I didn't know you were going through such a hard hard time and wished I had asked about YOU instead of whether the rain was washing your house away! I'm so glad you are surrounded by a mass of angels and am sending a ton of love across to you, my strong friend!
So glad you are home and doing well, Kate. Soup is! a wonderful cure all for regaining strength! Still holding all good wishes for you as you get back to your feeling better self!
Hello Kate! I am so happy that you are on the road to recovery...and with such good friends about--what a Blessing. I had that same surgery many years ago...and recovered quickly. You have been on my mind and in my prayers . Thank you for sharing your good news. The soup looks wonderful. I made a pot of Sausage and Gnocchi Soup last week and it was yummy! Great weather for something warm in the tummy. Take care of yourself...rest and give yourself some time to heal. Blessings to you!
How did I miss that you were having surgery? Well, I am ever so happy that you are well on the mend, and that there were no complications. And now I’m going to get the only chickpeas in the house. (which are dried) and soak them so I can make your soup tomorrow. It sounds so good.
Oh, my, Friend! I'm so sorry I was oblivious to your situation till now. It is indeed a relief to hear those words. I love all the signs you were sent by the Power of the Pie to support and cheer you, and I'm so happy you are surrounded by a web of local, embodied stalwarts who can provide the in-person tlc you so richly deserve. Of course, we know your Spirit Team is always by your side, and your many long-distance friends and appreciators are sending all the good juju and healing energy your way. Perhaps we should adopt a paraphrase of a well-known benediction: May the Pie be with you. Sending much love.
Kate - you have been in my thoughts since your last newsletter. So happy and relieved to learn of your excellent outcome and good care at home. This afternoon at the home of a new friend, I noticed Art of the Pie on her cookbook shelf just after I finished reading this newsletter. Wishing you peace and comfort.

Negative and benign are the best results. Perfect recipe for this weather. I’ll be making that tomorrow.
