That song brings back memories for sure (the naked backside, not so much!). The most important lessons are those learned though hard knocks. If we're lucky, we learn to get out of our own way. Sounds like you have. Best of luck as you continue your lifetime project.
I do remember "Those Were the Days". Quite well, actually. I was 17 when that song hit the airwaves. I was never all that fond of it because it seemed so sad. At 17, no one wants to be sad.
Wouldn't you just love to see the girl scout badge sash ours would be? Not that I was in the GS for long...our troop leader had a "nervous breakdown" and that was the end of that.

You know, I think it is the same thing in writing, Ruth. When we get out of our own way, the words come.
Dear Kate,
Warm wishes to you.
Thank you for keeping me in the loop.

Always! xo
That was a post for the record books!

Thanks guys! I digged up one.
Okie dokie!
The song - I used to hum along with lightness and laughter - now I get all teary eyed.
I totally get that, Cheryl. How our life and times change us.
I would! I lasted a week. a room full of girls! that I had to talk to! that I was being told I had to do things I didn't want to!
Not one of us, that I recall, ever earned a badge.
Do either of you have a recipe for pineapple upside down cake that I can share in tromorrow's story? If so, would you be willing to share?
I defer to Anne, our reigning cake queen, for this one, Pat.
And we have the bumps and scraps to prove it...each and every one our little badge of honor

Only you, Kate, can pull off tea time, introspection, Wendell Berry, and a nude bicyclist in one post. Love you!
Agreed!
Well, thank you kindly!
Anne, I love you, too! I'm glad you liked this one. ❤️
you are awesome even if you take a detour through a sketchy path! love your spirit, woman~!
Thank you, Pat! I feel like we both have taken some wonderful paths.
