Just think what fun it will be when the Hood Canal Bridge closes for some summer weekends! Adding to the adventure? Or increasing the motivation to stay home? Good thing we love where we live! Victoria here we come!

I was expecting to read you had to stop for the night somewhere. You had a wonderful companion throughout your unexpected excursion. Hugs to Greta!

My husband was a Captain on Washington State Ferries until he retired several years ago. Port Townsend was one of his favorite runs, but could be challenging in rough weather. I showed him your story and he got a bit of a chuckle remembering those ferry scheduling challenges. Glad your option 2 worked and you and Gretapie are safe at home.

This happened one other time when I was coming back from Whidbey. The run was shut down when there was a bomb threat on the PT side.

Hooray indeed! She was a little stiff when we arrived home and creaky this morning, but after a walk she seems to be doing ok.
