Holy cow...and Rob thinks *my* dreams are vivid and detailed (he's right). You need not fear what is in the book of your soul, Kate, as you are a very kind and beautiful human. Thanks for the song, too. I just googled the lyric so I could sing along full voiced. xox
Ha ha! When Joie McKay got married, we went to meet with Fr. Virgil for approval of my material. He cast a jaundiced eye in my direction and said "You can't sing any of those rock songs." I said "Panis Angelicus?" What a weird man with bizarre assumptions--I was hardly arrayed in a Joan Jett outfit. Maybe he just read my "do no harm, take no shit" demeanor...I also sang "Morning Has Broken". What amazing acoustics in the Mission. Just wish it didn't come with all the baggage of oppression...
So true. And you should have seen Fr. V’s face when I was in for the pre-nup meeting and told him my profession was ‘astrologer’. He closed the big book he was recording info into and said, “well, we have nothing more to discuss here.”
Dreams can be so vivid, scary or convoluted, or magical surrealism. Thanks for sharing yours. I used to try to deconstruct mine but generally don't anymore. Sometimes when I was younger I would have the same dream recur maybe twice a year. You are not alone, for sure
The drawing was at a second hand store today and I took a snapshot of it. I saw another art piece there of the county courthouse in my hometown, Santa Barbara. Perhaps another bit of synchronicity?
I agree that the world is feeling more isolating to me as time goes on…. a function of the times and aging process. Like you I strive every day to try to slow that process and open my world to new people, experiences and passions. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Dreams are so fascinating! Amazing that you saw that quote when you woke up. Right before I read your story, I had just listened to a version of a Fleetwood Mac song. So many coincidences!
Me, too. Those vivid dreams stay with us for awhile. And it's easy to begin to feel alone in this cold world, and in this increasingly mixed-up time. However, Kate, you will never be alone - you have a talent for friendship, and you have some everywhere in the world that you have been, and many places you haven't been to, because you have made a community here on the internet.
"...a talent for friendship" indeed! Kate and I have reconnected after many years and I consider it a great gift to have been invited back into her circle and to become acquainted in new ways.
It's a keeper!
I can't believe I'm only getting to this now! Geez Louise this is lovely!
I'm glad you like it, Pat.

Oh, how I would love to be there listening...although I think Mrs D would shudder at us singing those "folk" songs.

Whew! Need a daylight recovery from dreams like this! And the book!!
Never alone my friend.

It's good to be here with all of you.
The quote after your dream! Talk about synchronicity. Did you do that drawing, Kate? Beautiful.

Kate, I love how clearly you articulated your dream even though the pieces didn’t seem to fit together. The nature of dreams.❤️
So true...and perhaps it will become clear one day.

I was den mother to a crew of ten. A lovely time. We even played charades!

We are connected in so many ways.

Thanks so much Julie. I wish you were here so I could pour you a spot of tea whist we chat.
Hi Kate I am here too.
Lori Carter
Good to know. It was quite a vivid dream. One that I will be thinking about for awhile.
