What an experience!! A very "giving" thing you did.

We would happily have walked Greta! Next time?

This was such a lovely story! I read it at the dentist office and thinking about it as they tortured me helped tremendously. You're the best!!

It was well worth it, for I can attest that they were indeed delicious! On the second night there a young Ukrainian teen whom asked if there were extra pampushky available. Luckily I was able to convince a few smaller tables to part with any “spares” they might pass on towards a growing young man with a hollow leg. I was fortunate enough to see the joy on his face of complete satisfaction a bit later. Kudos to the bakers, for you gals made his day!!

Thanks so much, Jolene. Do you see pampushky at any Ukraine bakeries or stores in Chicago?

The Ukrainian Village neighborhood restaurants here serve it with borscht, there’s a cafe-bakery Shokolad I’ve been wanting to visit, I will check.

They were served with the first course...borscht, of course. (You're welcome for the Mr Ed earworm, Jolene.)

You were pretty stressed the day we were on Zoom. Now I have a better idea of why! I wouldn't have been as calm. But congratulations, it was all worth it in the end.

Thanks Dianne. I'm pretty pleased (and a little proud too) to have been a part of this effort. Cindy and I were saying today that it was definitely up there in each of our own personal Best Day lists!
