It was well worth it, for I can attest that they were indeed delicious! On the second night there a young Ukrainian teen whom asked if there were extra pampushky available. Luckily I was able to convince a few smaller tables to part with any “spares” they might pass on towards a growing young man with a hollow leg. I was fortunate enough to see the joy on his face of complete satisfaction a bit later. Kudos to the bakers, for you gals made his day!!
You were pretty stressed the day we were on Zoom. Now I have a better idea of why! I wouldn't have been as calm. But congratulations, it was all worth it in the end.
Thanks Dianne. I'm pretty pleased (and a little proud too) to have been a part of this effort. Cindy and I were saying today that it was definitely up there in each of our own personal Best Day lists!
What an experience!! A very "giving" thing you did.
We would happily have walked Greta! Next time?
I’ll remember!
Don't get me started! But seriously, loved thinking about this piece and you doing all that baking for such a good cause.
This was such a lovely story! I read it at the dentist office and thinking about it as they tortured me helped tremendously. You're the best!!
This makes me smile and I hope the torture wasn’t too long.
What a wonderful story and great example of supreme generosity!

Oh this makes it all worth it so many ways, Denny! Did you go to both nights of the dinners?
I was a guest the first night and volunteered the second night. It was a success!
Wonderful, Denny!
I would have been walking Greta Pie!!!!
Yes, indeed you would have...along with Kira who was here yesterday, too. Camp Grandma is happening right now.
What a wonderful story and adventure, and the bread looks delicious! ❤️
I hope it was. It still smells of a bakery today.
Thanks for sharing this!
And thanks for reading it, Sandra!
Oh what a great story!!!
Thanks Oh Thou Maggie. I'm sure you would have been singing and providing a brilliant commentary for us.
Beautifully done, Kate! 🌻
Thanks so much, Jolene. Do you see pampushky at any Ukraine bakeries or stores in Chicago?
The Ukrainian Village neighborhood restaurants here serve it with borscht, there’s a cafe-bakery Shokolad I’ve been wanting to visit, I will check.
They were served with the first course...borscht, of course. (You're welcome for the Mr Ed earworm, Jolene.)

Thanks Stephen.
What a marathon! It looks like you had great success! Next time I'll volunteer to walk GP!!❤️
