# 331: It's 'Toon Day: Thomas & Friends: "Down the Mine" (1983)
A final Saturday diversion.
Spring is rapidly moving along, summer is just around the corner and there are so many things that keep me busy. As I am spending more time outside and less time on the computer, this rediscovered and beautifully restored pilot episode of Thomas & Friends will be our final ‘Toon Day.

My cousin built his son a “Thomas the Tank Engine” that was big enough to ride in. What a cool series.
My grandson was a big fan of Thomas the train, he loved watching the cartoons and when I found that there were movies on video we got all of those. We even went to Pennsylvania one summer so we could ride a Thomas the Train steam engine. Sadly, he grew out of that phase and moved on to Ninjas. Now he is almost 18 and all into the world of video games.
